Announcement Regarding International Student Admissions for the 2025-2026 Academic Year

Application for International Student Admissions for the 2025-2026 Academic Year will begin online at 09:00 AM on June 23, 2025, via https://obs.trakya.edu.tr/oibs/foa_app/ based on "TR-YÖS and/or Diploma Grade". Applications made in person or via e-mail will not be accepted.

Eligible Applicants:

a) Provided that they are in their last year of high school or have graduated:

1) Foreign nationals, (provided that those who studied in secondary education (high school) institutions in Turkey registered before the 2022-2023 academic year (excluding embassy schools, international private educational institutions in the MOBIS system, and foreign nationals brought to our country within the scope of projects carried out by the Ministry of National Education)).

2) Those who were born as Turkish citizens and lost their Turkish citizenship by obtaining permission to renounce Turkish citizenship from the Ministry of Interior, and those who document that they hold a blue card issued upon their request after losing Turkish citizenship (provided that those who studied in secondary education (high school) institutions in Turkey registered before the 2022-2023 academic year). (Article 7 of the Turkish Citizenship Law No. 5901 states that "(1) A child born to a Turkish citizen mother or father within marriage, inside or outside Turkey, is a Turkish citizen." It is advisable for candidates applying to international admission quotas to review the Turkish Citizenship Law.)

3) Those who gained Turkish citizenship later while being foreign nationals/dual nationals in this situation (provided that those who studied in secondary education (high school) institutions in Turkey registered before the 2022-2023 academic year).

4) a) Turkish citizens who continued secondary education abroad before 01/02/2013 and completed the last three years of their secondary education (high school) in a foreign country excluding TRNC (including those who completed all of their secondary education (high school) in Turkish schools opened under the Ministry of National Education in a foreign country other than TRNC) may apply for international student admission quotas.

b) Candidates who started secondary education abroad after 01/02/2013 may apply for international admission quotas if they have completed all of their secondary education (high school) in a foreign country excluding TRNC (including those who completed all of their secondary education (high school) in Turkish schools opened under the Ministry of National Education in a foreign country other than TRNC).

5) TRNC nationals who: Reside in TRNC and have completed their secondary education (high school) in TRNC with GCE AL exam results, or those who registered and studied in colleges and high schools in other countries between 2005-2010 and have or will have GCE AL exam results, their applications are accepted.

b) Applications of the following candidates are not accepted:

1) Turkish citizens who have completed all of their secondary education (high school) in Turkey or TRNC.

2) TRNC nationals (excluding those who completed all of their secondary education (high school) in TRNC high schools and have GCE AL results, and those who registered and studied in colleges and high schools in other countries between 2005-2010 and have or will have GCE AL exam results).

3) Dual nationals whose primary nationality by birth is Turkish, as defined in subparagraph 2 of paragraph a) (excluding those who meet the conditions in subparagraph 4 of paragraph a)).

4) Dual nationals, one of whose nationalities is TRNC (excluding those who completed all of their secondary education (high school) in TRNC high schools and have GCE AL results, and those who registered and studied in colleges and high schools in other countries between 2005-2010 and have or will have GCE AL exam results).

5) Turkish citizens or dual nationals whose primary nationality by birth is Turkish as defined in subparagraph 2 of paragraph a), who have studied in schools within Turkish embassies or in foreign high schools located in Turkey.

Minimum Score Requirements for Application:

For candidates applying with TR-YÖS scores:

For undergraduate programs in the Faculty of Medicine, Faculty of Dentistry, and Faculty of Pharmacy: at least 330 out of 500 from TR-YÖS.
For other undergraduate and associate degree programs: at least 200 out of 500.
For programs admitting students with special aptitude exams: at least 150 out of 500.

For candidates applying with high school diploma grades:

For undergraduate programs in the Faculty of Medicine, Faculty of Dentistry, and Faculty of Pharmacy: at least 85 out of 100 from high school diploma grade.
For other undergraduate and associate degree programs: a high school diploma grade of 50 out of 100 or higher.

Documents Required to Be Uploaded to the System During Application:

1 passport-sized photograph.
Passport and its Turkish translation.
For dual national candidates with one Turkish nationality: they must upload a "Vukuatlı Nüfus Kayıt Örneği" (Detailed Population Registration Sample) obtained from https://www.turkiye.gov.tr/ e-Devlet portal, showing their parents' registration. Blue Card holders must also upload their Blue Card document to the system.
High School Diploma (For graduated candidates, a Temporary Graduation Certificate and Transcript indicating graduation).
Turkish translation of the High School Diploma (excluding candidates graduated from Turkish high schools).
High school period transcript documents (Grade Transcript) or Report Cards (Each period must be uploaded separately).
Turkish translation of Transcript or Report Card (excluding candidates graduated from Turkish high schools) (Each period must be uploaded separately).
Candidates who were born as Turkish citizens and completed all of their high school abroad must upload all their report cards for the high school period. (These candidates will also be requested a document showing their entry-exit dates abroad.)
TRNC nationals who completed all of their secondary education in TRNC must upload their GCE A-Level exam result document (2 A-Levels) to the system during pre-registration and have it with them during final registration.
Azerbaijani national candidates must upload their State Examination (DIS) Exam Result Document to the system during pre-registration and have it with them during final registration.

Important Points Regarding Applications:

Trakya University reserves the right to take necessary legal action against candidates who apply or register by providing false information or documents. The applying candidate is deemed to have accepted all legal notifications made through the official websites of the T.C. Council of Higher Education and Trakya University. The candidate is deemed to have accepted full responsibility for any missing/inconsistent or erroneous documents uploaded or submitted during the registration phase.

Placement results will be announced on the official websites of Trakya University Directorate of International Relations Application and Research Center and Student Affairs Department, and on www.trakya.edu.tr .

The start of studies for registered students is determined according to their Turkish proficiency level.

- Those at C level can start their studies immediately.

- Those at B level can start their studies but are expected to improve their level.

- Those at A level or without a valid and sufficient Turkish proficiency certificate must take the "Turkish Proficiency Level Determination Exam" to be conducted by our university. According to the result they obtain, they will either start their studies or be granted a one-year leave of absence to bring their Turkish proficiency to the required level. Otherwise, they cannot start their studies.

Correspondence with candidates will be conducted via e-mail, and it is important that the e-mail address you provide is active, up-to-date, and correct. Notifications sent to candidates' e-mail addresses are considered served.
Please check your applications by logging into the system during the application period!
Students already registered at Trakya University cannot apply.

Regarding the application evaluation process:

a) The evaluation of applications and the placement of candidates are entirely at the discretion of Trakya University. Trakya University is free to select and place student candidates and to fill or not fill quotas. Meeting the application requirements does not guarantee admission for placement.

b) The evaluation of the qualifications of candidates applying to programs that admit students with special talent exams is carried out in their respective schools according to the principles and procedures of these programs and reported to the Rectorate. Placement and registration procedures for those found to be qualified are carried out by the Student Affairs Department with the approval of the Rector.

c) As per the decision of the Council of Higher Education: Quota restrictions are applied to Teaching, Medicine, Dentistry, and Pharmacy programs for blue card holder candidates, Turkish citizens who have completed their high school education abroad (excluding TRNC), and dual national candidates with one Turkish nationality. It is at our university's discretion to open or not open quotas for these programs.

d) Candidates may be required to have graduated from an equivalent or similar field or branch to the program they are applying for. This evaluation is made by the International Student Admission, Evaluation, and Placement Committee during the application.

e) To ensure that international students have sufficient financial means to pursue their higher education in our country, a specific amount and/or form of financial guarantee, whose terms and conditions will be determined by our university, may be requested from the candidate.

f) Applications will be made online starting at 09:00 AM on June 23, 2025, and ending at 23:59 PM on July 20, 2025.

g) After completing the online application, candidates must print out the application form, sign it, and keep it. (Candidates who are placed in one of their preferences as a result of the placement process and gain the right to register will be asked for the signed and photographed application form printout during registration.)

h) Placement results will be announced on the official websites of Trakya University Directorate of Foreign Relations Application and Research Center and Student Affairs Department, and on www.trakya.edu.tr.

i) The start time of studies for registered students is determined according to their Turkish proficiency level. Those at C level can start their studies immediately. Those at B level can start their studies but are expected to improve their level. Those at A level or without a valid and sufficient Turkish proficiency certificate must take the "Turkish Proficiency Level Determination Exam" to be conducted by our university. Other Matters:

An applicant's preference application to the quotas means that they meet the above-mentioned application conditions and accept all provisions in the Trakya University Directive on International Student Admissions.
Original and certified copies of documents will be requested during final registration.
Applications made in person or via e-mail will not be accepted.
